History of Koteshwar Mahadev Temple
The Koteshwar Mahadev Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is believed to have been built in the 14th century. The temple was rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Due to being 3 km away from the route of Char Dham Yatra, devotees going to Kedarnath also go to see Koteshwar Mahadev in large numbers.
According to old legends, it is believed that Lord Shiva meditated in the cave of Koteshwar Mahadev while going to Kedarnath. The idols and Shivling present inside the cave have been established since ancient times.

By Air- If you want to visit Koteshwar Mahadev from any other state outside Uttarakhand then Jolly Grant Airport of Dehradun is the nearest airport. After that, you can have the darshan of Lord Shiva by boarding any car or bus from there.
